Our Doors have compression wings one on either side and a small at the top. All metal mailboxes are made with a lip at the front opening where is bent so there no sharp edges. The best way to measure confirm size is opening of your mailbox canister itself, not old Door. The retrofit is an easy to use, install, snap-in replacement mailbox Door, for standard 11 wide metal mailboxes.

These compression wings push in and expand behind that lip holding them into place. Some metal mailboxes have internal latching devices or external that give added help in keeping the Door closed. The retrofit is designed for steel and aluminum mailboxes does not work on plastic. We made our Doors to match the 3 standard sizes of metal mailboxes so are fix each correlating size exactly.

The retrofit is made of rust resistant aluminum. Our Doors do not come with any latching device, just the simple replacement Door. The Door itself is made to just sit over top of that front lip like a normal mailbox. It requires no glues to hold in place.

The retrofit simply snaps in and remains secure to fit virtually all standard wide height metal mailboxes. The retrofit is ideal for broken monument and brick mailboxes where removal of original mailbox prohibitive. The retrofit will also work perfectly on any standard post metal mailbox.
