The retrofit is made of rust resistant aluminum. The retrofit is ideal for broken monument and brick mailboxes where removal of original mailbox prohibitive. All metal mailboxes are made with a lip at the front opening where is bent so there no sharp edges. Our Doors do not come with any latching device, just the simple replacement Door.

The best way to measure confirm size is opening of your mailbox canister itself, not old Door. Our Doors have compression wings one on either side and a small at the top. The Door itself is made to just sit over top of that front lip like a normal mailbox.

The retrofit is designed for steel and aluminum mailboxes does not work on plastic. The retrofit simply snaps in and remains secure to fit virtually all standard wide height metal mailboxes. It requires no glues to hold in place.
