Overall depth - front to back: one was hit by a car, another rusted so bad I had replace it do get lot of salt from trucks plowing snow and throwing on box during winter, last the hinge gave out dropped door off. My existing Mailbox had a 4x4 post, so all I to do was cut the post off at 24 above ground and this new slides right on top of it.

Took maybe 5 minutes to put up. Material: -plastic. Installation was a breeze.

I was scared about the look since Whitehall's are gorgeous and have 6ft tall rod iron fence with brick pillars at front of my property. You wont be disappointed.

Both lids have a good strong magnet for holding shut and the rear entry is nice keeping me off road while getting mail. Now I don't have to stand in the road check my mail. I took the old box and metal cover off post.
